According to the American Academy of Dermatology, collagen production decreases by approximately 1% per year starting in the 20s. ### What "vegan collagen" properly means When Geltor refers to a product as vegan or animal-free collagen, it means the collagen polypeptide is produced entirely without any animal-derived inputs, ingredients, or processes, while maintaining its sequence identity to the target collagen. The polypeptide itself is a true collagen polypeptide, biomimetic to its animal-derived counterpart, made entirely through microbial fermentation using plant-based and mineral inputs.
