Monica manages all process development related to the R&D and manufacturing of Geltor’s protein production platform for upstream, downstream, and commercial scaleup activities. Monica brings over a decade of process development expertise cultivated at companies including Terravia, REG and Codexis. She holds a Bachelors in Biochemical Engineering & Biotechnology from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and a PhD in Biochemistry from University of South Carolina. She enjoys spending her free time reading books, playing with her kids, hiking, and traveling.
DIRECTOR OF FERMENTATION
Rishard holds over a decade of experience developing fermentation processes and scaling them up to manufacturing scales. At Sutro Biopharma, Rishard designed a continuous fermentation process as part of the production of antibody drug conjugates under cGMP conditions for human clinical trials. At Solazyme, his processes to produce algal oil were scaled up to 500,000 L. Rishard received his PhD in Chemical Engineering at Cornell University and his B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. When he’s not analyzing data and writing reports, his favorite pastime is striving to be a super father to his two wonderful children.

Jennifer is passionate about building values driven organizations and developing people to bring out their best. Prior to joining Geltor, Jennifer learned the benefit of emphasizing people, culture, and values at Clif Bar & Company. She honed the ability to recruit top talent at the management consulting firm, ZS Associates. Jennifer’s focus on developing people stretches back to her days as an Academic and Career Advisor in multiple universities. Jennifer holds a M.Ed and a B.A in Psychology from U.C.L.A. When she’s not working Jennifer can be found discussing sustainability or sorting trash into appropriate waste streams, volunteering with the Prison to Employment Connection program at San Quentin, or enjoying the outdoors.
SENIOR DIRECTOR, ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY
Miryam is a life-sciences and pharmaceutical technology expert with extensive experience in providing analytical/bioanalytical methods for quantitation and characterization of small molecules and biologics. Her areas of expertise include analytical instrumentations (including various Mass spectrometry techniques), Bio-assay, proteomics and metabolomics, and separation sciences. Prior to Geltor, Miryam worked at a number of other biotech and pharmaceutical companies, including Zosano Pharma, Codexis, Amylin, and Genentech. There, she led R&D of new technologies for Analytical/bioanalytical assays, assisted in writing NDA and BLA filings, led assay development and transfer, and provided CRO oversight. Her lab has served as a beta-testing site for new technologies, working with companies such as 3M, Sciex, and Eksigent nano-HPLC, etc. Miryam completed her Postdoctoral fellowship in Bioinorganic Chemistry at U.C. Berkeley, her Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Emory University, and her B.S. degree in Chemistry from College of Charleston. She is also an accomplished athlete who loves to stay active in the outdoors.
Sachin has operated at the intersection of finance, life science and technology for the majority of his career. He was drawn to Geltor’s mission to create and produce at scale sustainable “hero” ingredients for the world’s biggest businesses with the goal of having Geltor-powered products in every fridge, pantry and bathroom by 2027. Before joining Geltor, Sachin held executive positions in venture backed businesses including Zipongo, Practice Fusion and Yodlee. In addition, he spent several years in investment banking advising private and public companies on corporate finance and strategy matters. He received a BA in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA in Finance from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Outside the office, he loves to spend time with his family.
Erin leads Communications at Geltor, which encompasses media relations, content strategy, and brand management. Prior to joining the team, she spent a number of years on the non-profit side of consumer biology at New Harvest, working closely with researchers and startups to build the field of “cellular agriculture” from the ground up. Erin has also worked in legal advocacy and special education in her hometown of Vancouver, Canada. Erin is moved by foresight; bringing humanity, inclusivity, and authenticity to storytelling around breakthrough technologies; and the power of community for startups and established brands alike. She completed her BA at the University of British Columbia, and a JD at the University of Alberta.

Douglas is a chemical engineer who is passionate about seeing ideas through from R&D scale to fully realized products that customers love. He has practiced process development and engineering for over a decade at companies like Dupont, Impossible Foods, and Ripple Foods. At Geltor, he focuses on process development, scale-up engineering & manufacturing, and product commercialization. Douglas earned his BS in Chemical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley and his MS in Chemical Engineering at Columbia University. When he is not thinking about process, he enjoys travel, going on nature hikes, and being a new dad.
CO-FOUNDER AND CEO
As co-founder and CEO of Geltor, Alex is strongly motivated by the positive impact that biodesign and technological innovation can have on public health and sustainability. Alex became interested in transforming the global protein supply chain as an MD/ Ph.D. student working to solve antibiotic resistance. He studied Medicine at Rutgers University, earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University, and holds a BS in Biology from Boston College. Outside the office he enjoys learning new languages and cycling around northern California.

As CTO and co-founder, Nick heads innovation and production development at Geltor, leading the team’s efforts in taking novel ingredients from lab bench to customer. Nick is passionate about combining synthetic biology with his unique background in microbiology, biochemistry, and molecular biology. Before founding Geltor, Nick received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University, and a BS in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Rutgers University. When he is not working on creating new technology, Nick enjoys nature hikes and science fiction.
